“The success of the design lies in the strong geometry, repetition of shapes and materials and the layers of the garden” Gardens Illustrated
A diverse family garden complements an imposing, modern residence in Kingston Hill, Surrey. Juxtaposing 'L' shapes defined with slate, basalt and architectural stone divide the garden and provide dynamism as one area of the garden slides into the next. Multi-level ‘cubist’ planting beds and glass gates encase the swimming pool.
Clipped box and yew, tie house and garden and pleached hornbeams wrap the corners of the main lawn. Ornamental trees, grasses and seasonal planting in claret, dusky pinks, purples and whites pack the beds and shimmer with constant movement. Paths dogleg through the garden offering an inviting stroll to the ‘floating’ steel and glass gazebo, or a fun bike ride to the hidden play area.
